Maybe you searched this question. Maybe you’re reading this blog because someone you trust sent you here. Either way, part of you already suspects something real is happening in this work.
I have spent years as a nurse, working alongside people through crisis, recovery, and everything in between, and years studying psychology, watching people’s patterns play out again and again. I have also done this work on myself for years, long before I ever guided a client through it, and I have watched it hold up every single time. Legitimate is not too strong a word for what I do. It is the only word.
What Legitimacy Actually Means Here
Legitimacy was never about fitting a familiar mold. It is about authenticity and integrity. Shamanic healing works directly with the belief, pattern, and emotion stored in the unconscious mind. That is not something to dismiss. That is the part of your unconscious mind running the show while your conscious mind thinks it’s driving.
Here is the part most people never get told. The unconscious mind is not mysterious or unreachable. Many of these beliefs were formed from birth through around age seven, long before you had the words to question them. Some were never even yours to begin with. They were inherited from your ancestors, carried forward without your consent. Some feel like they were brought into this life for you to finally clear. Either way, they sit there quietly writing the script, until someone shows you how to reach them directly.
Two Worlds, One Practice
My years in nursing and my psychology degree gave me two different ways of understanding a person, one through the body and one through the mind. Neither one showed me how to reach the unconscious program running underneath both, quietly writing the script that keeps the same painful pattern showing up in relationship after relationship, job after job, year after year. Shamanic work is where I finally found the door in.
A client I’ll call Elena came to me carrying anxiety she could describe in perfect clinical detail. She knew the theory behind it. She could trace it back to its roots. None of that understanding had moved it one inch. In our first session together, we found the exact belief lodged in her unconscious mind since childhood, tied to a pattern she had never once said out loud, not to a friend, not even fully to herself. We released it. Weeks later she told me the anxiety she’d carried for years had finally gone quiet.
That is not a fluke. That is a program getting rewritten at the level where it actually lives.
I share Elena’s story because it is not rare in my practice. It is the pattern I see over and over. Someone arrives having done real work, serious work, and still feels stuck in the exact same place. The missing piece was never effort. It was access. Talk therapy works beautifully with the conscious mind. It was never built to reach the unconscious mind directly, and that is not a criticism of therapy. It is simply a different tool for a different layer.
There’s a specific moment in a session when something releases. Clients describe it differently: a breath they didn’t know they were holding, a weight lifting off the chest, a wave of relief that has nothing to do with anything I said out loud. That moment is the real proof. Not a theory. Not a research paper. A body finally letting go of something it carried for years.
I’ve stopped convincing anyone this work is real. I’ve watched it happen too many times. What I care about now is making sure the people who find their way to me get the real thing, not a diluted version of it.
If you’ve read this far, some part of you already knows. That is your inner knowing speaking, not your doubt. It’s worth asking yourself honestly what you might be resisting, and why you desire something better for yourself badly enough to still be reading this.
What Authenticity Feels Like
You feel it before you can explain it. It’s the difference between a session that follows a script and one that follows you. Some sessions move fast. Some sit in one place for a long time because that’s where the work actually is. I never know exactly what a session will look like before it starts, and that unpredictability is the proof. Nothing about it is rehearsed.
Are You Ready to Make the Change?
Most people come to this work already tired, tired of living the way they’ve been living, tired of watching the same pattern win again and again. That exhaustion is not the problem. It is the signal that you are done living around the problem instead of through it.
If any of this sounds familiar, you may already be there:
- You already sense something is stuck, even if you can’t name it yet.
- You’ve done real work and still feel the same pattern underneath it, in your relationships, your health, or your work.
- You’re tired of living this way and ready for something to actually be different.
- Some part of you already knows this is the next right step.
The Bottom Line
Is shamanic healing legitimate? Yes, when it is built on authenticity and integrity, and when it does the one thing that actually matters: it reaches the programs running beneath your conscious awareness, the ones keeping you stuck no matter how much you already understand your own story. Not a promise. Not a performance. A pattern released, a weight lifted, a story finally rewritten at the level where it actually lives.
The mind is a program. You are not. That is where everything changes, and it is where I would love to meet you.
